Apple Pro Keyboard Layout v2 (KBD) for Windows XP and Vista

Do you use the UK Apple Pro Keyboard with Windows XP?

 

Installation and setup

This is the traditional ten step installation guide. This is a long page but you should be able to print it okay.

 

step 1

After unZipping the Apple_Pro_KBD_v2.zip file, open the Apple Pro KBD directory and run the Setup.exe installation file. (Image to be replaced.)

 

step 2

The installer will run and automatically install the keyboard layout .dll file into the correct location.

To remove the keyboard layout simply run the installer again.

After installation open the Regional and Language Options control panel...

...and Click on the Languages tab...

...then click on the Details... button.

In the Text Services and Input Languages panel, click on the Add button.

In the Add Input Language panel, click on the Keyboard Layout/IME: checkbox and select United Kingdom Extended (Apple) from the pop-up list and then click the OK button. (Image to be replaced.)

In the Text Services and Input Languages panel, click on the pop-up list and select English (United Kingdom) - United Kingdom Extended (Apple). (Image to be replaced.)

You will see that the Apple Pro Keyboard layout is now selected in the Installed Services window. Click the OK button to save the new settings.

 

step 10

In the Regional and Language Options control panel click the OK button to save the settings and that's it. You can now use your Apple Pro Keyboard with Windows XP.

 

You may have to logout and login for the changes to take effect.
